Professional Experience
As a health system executive, I’ve led growth, operations and innovation for a number of highly regarded organizations across the U.S. and internationally. This includes HCA Healthcare, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Washington Hospital Center, Allina Health, Swedish Medical Center, the Canadian Healthcare System, and Parkway Health — the largest publicly traded healthcare system in Asia. And in these roles, served as economic buyer in the acquisition of dozens of innovative technologies and services; and understand not only how the U.S. and global healthcare system works inside and out, but also how decision makers think and operate
— because I was one of them.
As a healthcare entrepreneur, I co-founded OnSite Docs (renamed Carena) as an innovative model for delivery of primary care, urgent care services and telemedicine services — at the time, one of the earliest buildouts and deployments of telehealth technology. The company achieved successful exit through acquisition by Avizia. I was also an early investor in and helped launch Ensocare, now a recognized industry leader in transitions of care and care coordination technology. I’ve walked in your shoes and know what it takes to lead new and young companies to success.
As a consultant, trusted advisor and coach, I’ve successfully engaged with healthcare technology companies and leaders (including physician leaders) in support of product strategy, business growth and operational enhancement. I’ve worked with venture capital firms to provide strategic investment support for their portfolios and portfolio companies. The business guidance and professional coaching I deliver is grounded in not only my own career experience and successes but also wide-ranging and successful engagement with virtually every sector of the healthcare market.
I have a B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry from Central Michigan University and an M.H.A. degree from The George Washington University and served on the faculty of Penn State University and as guest lecturer at The Wharton School of Business, The George Washington University, and The University of Washington. As a graduate of The Hudson Institute of Coaching I am certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as an Executive and Leadership Coach.
